Indian Rupee to get a currency symbol

Indian Rupee is not having any symbol, it is just denoted by Rupees or Rs. in short. So the Indian government has decided to give the Indian currency a symbol to get it recognized globally. All the major economies of the world are already having some symbols to represent their currency.

For this, Indian government invited designs from all over the country and has received around 2,500 designs. Now a committee headed by a Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) top official will meet to short-list some entries and designs.

The Finance Ministry has asked that the selected symbol should represent the historical and cultural ethos of traditional India. The symbol should also be applicable to a standard computer keyboard. Currently, it is in the evaluation phase, so it will take some time to finalize the symbol. But soon Indian currency will have a symbol helping it to achieve a global status and representation.

A committee headed by a Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) shortlisted five symbols and now on 15th July 2010, Union Cabinet has declared the final symbol for Indian Rupee. This new symbol is a perfect blend of modernity and Indian culture.

How to Prevent H1N1 Swine Flu

Swine Flu has spread all over world and there is no vaccine available as of now. So we can only prevent us from getting infected with H1N1 virus. There are several ways and precautions that we can do to stay away from this deadly virus. Many persons especially kids have died due to this virus. Many persons are advised to use face masks and N95 respirators as a tool for general protection against H1N1.

Most N95 respirators are designed to filter 95% particulates of 0.3µ,
while the size of H1N1 virus is about 0.1µ. Hence, dependence on N95 to protect against H1N1 is like protecting against rain with an umbrella made of mosquito net. 'Tamiflu' does not kill but prevents H1N1 from further proliferation till the virus limits itself in about 1-2 weeks (natural cycle of viruses). H1N1, like other 'Influenza A viruses', only infects the upper respiratory tract and proliferates there. The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions.

Please realize that this is not an official advice, especially the one about face masks or N95. This is just an advice from a doctor working in AIMS, India.

Below are some of the tips to prevent H1N1 Swine Flu:

  • Wash you hands frequently.
  • Try not to touch your face often, resist all temptations to touch any part of face unless you want to eat or bathe.
  • Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one.
  • Clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. Blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.
  • Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C.
  • Drink as much of warm liquids or water as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.
All these are easy way to prevent H1N1 Swine Flu which can be done by any individual and does not require much medication or time.

Different Stages of Life

There are different stages in Life, one when you study, means ‘Teen age’ with lot of energy and enthusiasm. Another stage when you work for money, ‘Working age’ and other is ‘Old age’ with full of time.

In teen age, you have lot of time and energy but you do not have much money.

In working age, you get enough money, and energy but no time.

In Old age, you do have lot of time and money but sadly not much energy.

These are the different stages of life and probably will remain the same. So if you will just complain about this, you will not be able to solve this problem. So you should utilize your time and energy to learn the new things at the teen age.

While you work, you must save and invest your money with energy, get prepared for the future. But do not forget to enjoy your life, take out some time for you and your family from your busy schedule to have some fun as you know in old age, you will not have that much enthusiasm in you to enjoy. And life is so unpredictable that you never know what can happen to you next day. So enjoy each moment of your life.

In old age, when you have lot of time, you should guide your younger generation and show them the right path to live and follow. Share your experiences but do not try to force the younger generation to follow your path. Every day, generation gap is increasing with latest technologies. So you may not always be right, just share your experiences and principles.

So if you will see the life from the proper angle and live accordingly without complaining, you will definitely enjoy your beautiful life.

IPL (Indian Premier League) 2009 has finally started today 18th April at 4 P.M. IST (Indian Standard Time) at Newlands in Capetown, South Africa. There was enough dilemma whether IPL will held this year or not as Indian government was not able to provide enough security personnel during matches as there are elections going in the country.

But now every cricket lover is relaxed as first IPL game has already started and may come to an end by the time this article will get finished. First 20-20 match is between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. And Mumbai Indians are in a strong position as of now.

There are total of 8 teams comprised of players from different countries and is a 20-20 over match, and this is the reason why IPL is so popular and becoming the favorite game in many countries.

8 Teams are as follows:

  • Mumbai Indians

  • Rajasthan Royals
  • Delhi Daredevils
  • Kings XI Punjab

  • Kolkata Knight Riders

Matches have been scheduled as per the comforts of Indian viewers and some matches will start at 4 P.M. and some matches (D/N) will start at 8 P.M. (IST).

And as I mentioned, first game may finish by the time I’ll finish this article and Mumbai Indians have won the first match by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 19 runs. It was a great first match for Mumbai Indians and tough luck for Dhoni and team. We hope to enjoy some better fireworks from all the teams as the games will proceed. Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Marketing or ‘SEM’ is a form of Internet marketing for the websites to increase their visibility in the search engine result pages. The basic and most powerful way of SEM is search engine optimization (SEO). But this is not a some day’s work, it needs a lot of time and regular work on the individual web pages to get the site listed on top of the SERPs. In short, it takes time to perform SEO. So there are other ways to increase the visibility of the website till you invest your time for SEO.

Other ways that comes under SEM are paid placements in major search engines, contextual advertisements and such other methods to get the visibility in the search engines. You will find some sites with no SEO at all. Some website owners think that they do not need this and their business is running fine and do not need to invest time or money for Search Engine Marketing.

But the majority of Internet users use search engines (Google, Yahoo etc...) just to find what they want. So even if your business is running good, you should also be visible when someone searches or is interested in your product or service area. And if you are not there, it means you have lost that deal, and one deal does not always closes with one deal, it could lead to many more. So the fact is SEM is a must for every website.

SEO is basically done to get your site appearance at the first page or in the initial pages of the search engine. And as you know it takes time to get the first few positions, you may have to go for some paid search, it means you will pay to the search engine to get you listed at the top, which is popularly known as PPC (Pay Per Click) advertisement. For Google, it is known as 'Google AdWords'. So, whenever a user searches for a particular word or set of words, you will get listed at top, and you are ready to pay the agreed cost to the search engine, if that user clicks on your website link.

There are other ways also to get you listed in the search engine result pages, but they are not direct links to your site instead they provide link to your site, this is also called as link-building, sometimes as back-links. You can get back links by a number of ways, so more the back links you have, more visibility you will get in the search engine. But these back links should be related with your business. You can write articles related to your industry and post them on your blog, put them on some article submission sites, and you are ready with your links. There are many ways to get the high rankings on the search engines, just what it takes is a bit of time and effort. If you have that, it is great, if not then just go and hire some SEO/SEM company but after doing some good amount of research. Remember SEM raises the online profile and builds brand awareness.
